  Question regarding WT policy of divorce in the Philippines

  i was told the other day by a philippino work colleague, that to obtain a legal divorce in the philippines is so drawn out and expensive, that it can put it beyond the reach of most people.

  most don’t even bother getting one.

  so my question is what is the situation with jw who are in reality separated /divorced but in practical terms can’t legally finalise it..

  my wife is filipina.

  back in 2012 she was living in the UK--with a student visa. she was married to a filipino. she obtained a divorce here in the UK. so she was then single again anywhere in the world--except the Philippines.

  in order to straighten that out--she applied for annulment in the Philippines--which to all intents and purposes is a divorce--the only difference being fat cat lawyers and greedy judges all get their snout in the trough. so it is only affordable to the wealthiest people. unless she can get a foreigner to come up with the cash.

  a sexually active woman tells her plastic surgeon that she wanted her ******l lips reduced in size because they were too loose and floppy.

  out of embarrassment she insisted that the surgery be kept a secret and the surgeon agreed.

  awakening from the anaesthesia after the surgery she found 3 roses carefully placed beside her on the bed.

Outraged, she immediately calls in the doctor. 'I thought I asked you not to tell anyone about my operation!' The surgeon told her he had carried out her wish for confidentiality and that the first rose was from him: 'I felt sad because you went through this all by yourself.' 'The second rose is from my nurse. She assisted me in the surgery and understood because she had had the same procedure done some time ago.'

  so --what constitutes a regional assembly ? what is a region--a country ?

  i never went to an assembly after about 1970. back then it was circuit and district assemblies--and international conventions every few years.

  Concealed carry Dubs

  i spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.

  i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .

  as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?

  Ex jw memorial

  recently a young person who was df'd died.

  as you can imagine, there will be no talk at the hall.. well, enter some very courageous other young ex jw's who had their own memorial.. these people got together , and had a bonfire in memory of our friend.

  and since we have hardly seen each other in over ten years, the conversation and tears flowed all night.. it just amazes me how all the parents of these grown up, normal young people think that ignoring their children is something that god approves of.

  this hits home to me.

  my son--now 42, was d/f a few years ago. i hadnt had any contact with him for 30 years. now--we are good mates. he is done with the cult. he has remarried--a lovely 3 year old son---the only grandchild i have ever met or spoken with.

  his mother--my born in first wife..totally shuns him. never met her grandson.. what a waste.

  altogether now--ITS A CULT...and i hate it.

  i have no interest in politics--especially if its in a different country to the UK. theres nothing i can do about it. i dont vote any more either.
